A personal reflection on the WRN Course.

Participating in the Work Ready Now (WRN) course has provided a crucial learning experience that effectively bridged the gap between academic theory in Communications and Electronics Engineering and practical, real-world workplace readiness. Throughout the course, structured modules in Personal Development guided me in critically assessing my technical strengths, identifying key growth areas, and formulating a measurable long-term career roadmap. In parallel, the Communication Skills training refined my capacity for active listening, concise technical writing, professional email protocols, and seamless teamwork—essential assets when engineering complex routing topologies, troubleshooting network infrastructures, or coordinating multi-disciplinary hardware builds.

Furthermore, the curriculum significantly enhanced my Job-Seeking Skills through actionable guidance on crafting targeted engineering CVs, building an impactful LinkedIn and Simplicity career profiles, writing customized cover letters, and navigating modern hiring processes. The focus on Workplace Behaviors reinforced the vital importance of adaptability, organizational ethics, problem-solving, and efficient time management in high-demand technical environments. Finally, the Leadership and decision-making frameworks built the confidence necessary to guide team initiatives and drive collaborative solutions. Overall, this course has heavily strengthened my readiness to excel as an engineering professional.
